· Guardian Bank, Phoenix, Arizona (1983-1986)

                 President & CEO, Member, Board of Directors

 

Co-founded and supervised complete development and operation of new commercial bank.  Designed innovative systems, services, collateral material, personnel policy, building and interior.  Guardian Bank was profitable during its first year of operation and was consistently rated highly in the State of Arizona, including first rank among community banks in 1988.  (Part of Citibank in 1990)

 

 

· Central Arizona Bank, Chandler Arizona (1982-1983)

                 President & CEO, Member, Board of Directors

 

Recruited to direct the broad reorganization of an existing bank.  As a result this bank became consistently profitable, and was recognized by auditors and state bank authorities as one of the better managed community banks in the State.      (Part of Security Pacific in 1990)

 

· Great Western Bank, Phoenix Arizona (1981-1982)

                 Vice President & Headquarters Commercial Loan Officer

 

Responsible for full and varied commercial portfolio:  Led the bank in new business generation as well as serving as an international representative.  (Part of Citibank in 1990)

Recruited by senior management of the Southwest's largest bank.  Led entire bank in calling and commercial loan development and was directly responsible for 30 major business customers.  Attended advanced credit course and studied under senior credit/lending officers.  Held lending officer posts in agribusiness and commercial lending with headquarters' departments, and the bank's first commercial loan center.  Audit results and loan quality were consistently excellent.                  Senior Grain Buyer & Member, Plant Management Staff

 

Promoted at end of military service (Dec. 1969) from plant employee to corporate management position of Grain Buyer, and later to Senior Grain Buyer; directly responsible for budget of $80 million.  Duties included supervision of office staff, purchasing of over 35 million bushels of grain per year, maintaining personal contact with farmers, elevators, and major grain corporations; serving on plant management staff of a facility of 1200 employees; aiding in the development and implementation of economic proposals and new corporate projects.
